Pulled together by the interstellar forces of a galaxy not as far away from ours as all of the other ones, The Omedas collective was born. Together, each of the wild musicians that participate in the project grace The Omedas with a unique, high energy frequency inspired by their adventures through the stars and under them. Based out of Biel/Bienne and Zurich Switzerland; they regularly engage in their favorite activity of producing sound waves that make the humans wiggle.
The Omedas blend together the sounds of western, gypsy, experimental and latin into an eclectic fusion. World rhythms drive the energetic original music, soulful vocals, virtuoso fiddle and spacey electronic nuances come together to create the dynamic combination of sounds that makes up the Omedas experience.
In 2018 the band joined the Zurich based music label, Rad Fyah. Together with the label, the band released their first EP, Midnight Eyes, in May 2020. The EP is the culmination of years of domestic and inter-dimensional travel, carefully curating a collection of influences that come together in the sound unique to The Omedas. The production of their upcoming full length album began with an artist residency in the Bernese Jura mountains where they laid down the tracks for the. Collaborating with a group of international musicians, sound technicians and media crew, the album production is ongoing; it is set to be released in 2024. Omedream Mini-Tour Summer 2023
On tour in buenos aires february 2023
The Omedas spent the month of February, 2023 on tour with their friends Los Yukas in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The two bands played shows around the capital city during the month and collaborated with local bands, DJs and performers.
The Omedas are Recording THeir First Full Length Album
The Omedas are currently busy producing their new space folk creations. The full length, 10-track album will be released in summer 2024. In the mean time, stay tuned for single releases throughout the spring and early summer.
RAD FYAH Music Label
The Omedas are proud to be part of the “cozy home” at Rad Fyah, a Zurich based music label. The label supports emerging Swiss and international artists as well as produces a youtube channel with fresh new tunes being released regularly.
